Just a remix I felt like doing (which is a mixture of Camp Lo’s song “Luchini” & Angie Stone’s “Lover’s Ghetto”) before the release of my upcoming free project entitled “Open Doors” with 10 new original songs.
A really great short documenting Darren Anthony and his future plans for himself and his play “Secrets Of A Black Boy”.
Fresh off the New York run off his play Secrets of a Black Boy, Darren Anthony is now starting the transition from stage to film. Check out his mini doc on his experience in New York.
If you ever heard me rant about the fact that there are kids in this city that you probably never heard of selling out the Opera House with no traditional buzz – this was the dude I was talking about. He did that at 17 and if I recall correctly he had something like 400 twitter followers when I checked back then (don’t know why I didn’t follow him then either.. if I did I would’ve caught this when it dropped earlier in September, smh).
And hey, I ain’t saying he’s the second coming of anything, just that: (i) there are artists with 10 times the # of ‘followers’ he had back then that still can’t sell out the Opera House, (ii) I’d put his 1000+ followers up against alot of those artists’ and feel pretty confident, and (iii) there are movements upon movements in this city happening over and below all our heads, which is why we always stay humble over here and enjoy the ride as if we’d just hopped on it today.

Noice.
Toronto & LA connect once again as Crooklin of the Smash Brovaz links with Yancy Deron for this cut which can also be found on Yancy’s recent solo release, BBGW.
“On my recent i travels to California to mix my solo project, one of the most inspiring parts of the trip
was working with Yancy and his people from LNDL (Live Now Die Later). Heres some music we
created in my time in Pasadena. We’ve got an album coming in the near future, but
in the meantime…. Roll up n smoke to this.” -Crooklin
