One of many great Toronto stories I did not know… so dope!
this was some great footage from when I bumped into Kamau downtown Toronto before World Domination 4.. I felt impulsed to tell this story cause he really was my first “last guy to beat” in my first ever live on stage battle, many years ago.. After telling the story, he turns around and hits me with a “first time” story of his own.. Classic Toronto Battle Rap.

On May 9th 2013 J Shiltz released his second album “Still Standing”. The sequel to his debut album “What I Stand For”, the sophomore effort came equipped with dope lyrics from both Shiltz and features alike (Rapper Big Pooh, A.G, Junia-T, pHoenix Pagliacci and more) over banging beats by some of Toronto’s illest beat makers (Rich Kidd, Lancecape, Charisma, Relic and more). Ranking as high as #5 on the national community and campus radio chart EarShot, a Much Vibe featured music video, and both stateside and worldwide acclaim are a mere fraction of the buzz the album has generated. Yet in a climate where timeless music falls victim to a here today gone tomorrow mentality, sometimes a reminder is needed. For that reason Shiltz has decided to release the DJ Pack to the Kev Brown produced and Rich Kidd assisted title track “Still Standing”. DJs can get the dirty, clean, instro, and acapella via the link below.DJ Pack WAV:

“Still Standing” is available at Play De Record in Toronto, Dr. Disc in Hamilton, and The Orange Monkey in Waterloo. Download a digital copy of “Still Standing” via http://jshiltz.bandcamp.com.

Kaydee‘s got some new goodies to share starting off with the viral joint “Boom Bap”. Technically it’s not off his 90′s Baby mixtape but it’s one of the last things he puts out in that lane before heading in a new direction.

What happens when you realize that “A Dollar and A Dream” has turned into “A Penny and a Nightmare”? Ottawa-born, Toronto-based rapper Harvey Stripes explores the concept on the follow-up to his 2011 debut.
Boasting 16 tracks, “A Penny and a Nightmare” sees Harvey speaking on everything for which he has become known — money, cars, exotic women and a highbrow lifestyle. But it also delves into deeper and grittier issues that include greed, abortion, loyalty, the justice system and more. “‘A Penny and a Nightmare’ is just me being real, being raw, being a genuine artist telling my story with hopes that the listeners can relate to what I’ve gone through,” says Harvey. “I feel like ‘A Penny and a Nightmare’ — even with the title of the album — shows that as glamorous as this life may seem, there’s still nightmares.”
Synonymous with heavy-hitter features, Harvey employs a supporting cast that compliments his style and includes Jadakiss (“Bought a Boat”), Juicy J (“Dolly”), Jeremih (“Any Way You Want It”) as well as Canadian talent such as Shi Wisdom (“A Penny and a Nightmare”), Captain Hooks (“Bleach Blonde”), Dru (“Ghost”), and more. “A Penny and a Nightmare” also expands Harvey’s sonic range courtesy of resident producer Beat Merchant as well as Deli, Pro Logic, Jeff Parris, Preezy and Daniel Worthy.–
