One of the reasons why I love this city is because, well…this post is completely different than the one below, lol. Brendan Philip drops a nice 3-track EP for you to vibe out to. Free download via the Bandcamp:

The SARS Network’s Puzzle & Paradox both born & raised in Toronto and have been working on perfecting their album “Not Yet Rated” for the past two years . In that time, they both have been actively working in the studio and have recorded over 30 songs to find the right fit.
In this video Puzzle and Paradox take you back to a time when Hip Hop music was real, when it was about the hardest sound, and about respect for the art form. Now a days, Hip Hop has been liquidated down to a cash grab of mindless, meaningless music. “Take It Back” is a cry out for real Hip Hop to come back to its origin, in the street!
This is the first single off of the album “Not Yet Rated” due for release March 17th, 2012. “Take It Back” is a “Hardcore Boom Bap” record that is bound to shake your speakers. Song Produced & video Directed by Toronto Underground Hip Hop Mastermind Big Sproxx of Proletarian Music.

First time hearing dude. Not mad. Get caught up on his YouTube page.
New artist Devon Porter drops the trailer for “Rain”. Never actually heard dude sing so hopefully when the actual video comes out we’re not all utterly disappointed (lol). Note to artists…maybe be sure to actually include more of the song in your teasers…???

Ms. Fiona tweets fans a link to a 5-track preview of “The MF Life” which includes a bonus cut with Snoop Dogg called “Gone (La Dada Di)”.

This is so dope that I’m posting it even though it’s taped off TV (literally, lol). Sometimes quality just doesn’t matter, feel me? The content is the most important thing. Speaking of which…take a look at a nice little feature on the legendary Beatfactory Records which aired on MuchMusic’s The New Music show (I’m guessing in the late ’90′s). #TorontoHistory.
The clip also features footage of Camille Douglas (who recently passed away) doing her thing. “Don’t Leave Me Hangin’” was dope!!! RIP.
Story covering Beatfactory’s 15th anniversary party, interview’s with Ivan Berry, Jonathon Ramos, Duane Watson, Double Soul, featured on The New Music.
