Addi Stewart
Addi “Mindbender” Stewart is a lover of worldwide hip hop culture. He has worn many styles of the Kangol of Creation on his hip hop head, including MC, journalist, promoter, host, videographer, DJ, b-boy, visual artist, and entrepreneur. Some of his best interviews have been with Nas, Chuck D, RZA, Kanye West, Fab 5 Freddy, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Sizzla, Pharrell Williams, Prince Paul, The Pharcyde, and Carmen Bryan (the mother of Nasty Nas’s daughter Destiny), but he’s still chasing down that elusive interview with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. As one of Canada’s most forward-thinking MCs, Mindbender has shared the stage with MF DOOM, El-Producto, Bigg Jus of Company Flow, Cannibal Ox, Mr. Lif, Camu Tao, Del the Funky Homosapien, Aceyalone, Jeru the Damaja, Royce the 5′9″, Kool Keith and Blackalicious, dead prez, Maestro Fresh Wes, Saukrates, Marvel, Eternia, Tha Alkaholiks, and Xzibit, to name a few. Mindbender has rocked spots from Project Blowed in Los Angeles, to Vancouver, to Halifax, to S.O.B.’s in New York, but he lives in Toronto, where he proudly represents his hometown at every gathering of the hip hop community he possibly can. You will usually find Addi “Mindbender” Stewart near the speakers, or in the front row, rhyming along to the songs that he loves.
