9 Events That Made Summer In Toronto Special: #5 (Michael Jackson Tribute with DJ Nana and DJ L’Oquenz) and #6 (Behaviour 2009: B-Boy/B-Girl Festival in Mississauga, by Frostimus Prime)

It’s been a CRAZY summer. Both personally and professionally. Especially personally. Please pardon my delay, between these parties I love to be at, life has been chaos without meeting Natalie Portman. Ha. It’s a real person writing these thoughts and taking these pictures, not a robot. As much as I want to cover every show and write about every event as much as possible, it can’t happen (until some sponsors start investing in Cityonmyback.com so we can take it to Nahright.com levels of amazingness!)

So, I now present some photos of a few more of the wonderful things that happened in Toronto in 2009. I hope you were there in person to witness some of these amazing days…

Awesome Moment to Remember Number 5:

DJ Nana, DJ L'Oquenz, and DJ Son of S.O.U.L.'s smokin hot Michael Jackson tribute... it was blazing hot up in there!

it's too dark and sweaty to see that it's Saidah Baba Talibah killing us softly with a MJ dedication... but please believe it's her!

It was so hot up in there, the electricity went out a couple times! But that couldn’t end the vibes. People couldn’t stop til they got enough, and the spot was full of great Toronto people, music lovers and music makers alike.
Most of the night was spent playing MJ’s best, from old 70′s jems to the biggest and best songs of all time, and it was just a great night. Even though the rain was pouring like crazy outside, it was nothing but a hot box sauna of love and dancing on the inside!

Peace to everyone involved in that delightful event. It was necessary. MJ forever.

Toronto's b-boys and b-girls, reppin' hard for love and good Behaviour

Toronto's b-boys and b-girls, reppin' hard for love and good Behaviour

just in case you didn’t know:
THE MANIFESTO (no pun intended, ha ha) OF THE FIRST BEHAVIOUR URBAN ART FESTIVAL

“This massive marker in the history of Mississauga will cater to not only the 18 to 30 age bracket but also gear toward the interest in youth of all ages and from all regions of the GTA. It will draw upon the collective talents of alternative musical bands, visual artists and Hip-Hop culture. “Behaviour” will cross boundaries of genre and create a backdrop story for determination and an artistic revolution.

On Aug 29th 2009, this Mississauga summer festival aims to inspire the vibrant imaginations of youth and ignite the reminisced memories of an older audience. Presenting a world of youth talent and initiatives that includes musical bands, visual arts, local vendors & professional artist performances alongside the first ever Hip-Hop culture presentation competition in the city. “Behaviour” will mark a momentous occasion in Mississauga history, one that will recall the days when artists truly put time and love into displaying their passions, skills, creativity, character and innovation with their crafts. A remembrance of those that created something from nothing will be once again looked upon as role models representing Mississauga.

Behaviour also aims at uncovering stereotypes of urban culture within the suburbs, as well as educating the public on its creative background and positive influence within its youth. It’s a chance for everyone, even the artists to unite as a solid community and represent Mississauga as an important part of Canadian art and culture.”
