Quincy Jones played an important part of his success mos def. But let’s not forget that Quincy is consensually considered as one of the greatest music producers of all time, if not THE greatest. That issue maybe has more to do with Artist in spotlight V Producer behind the boards. There was an interesting article in Rolling Stone a while back describing MJ and QJ fighting during the recording. QJ thought that “Billie Jean” wasn’t strong enough to be on the album and that the LP would sell poorly due to the recession. Thank god he was wrong on both points.

If it wasn’t for quincy jones.. MJ wouldnt be the man he is made out to be..

metalfingers what up. thx for tuning in. what i said was that the tragedy in the situation is that this one man who made so many people happy (with either his music or charitable donations) was not happy himself. and that he was so depressed and stressed in fact that his heart literally stopped as it just couldn’t take it anymore. it’s just a sad reality that humans are selfish by nature but it seems that one of the few who truly seemed to be SELFLESS couldn’t find peace on earth. hopefully he’s found it in the heavens.

I think Rez said it best last tuesday on ota live. The man gave so much and cared so much that his heart literally stopped (my bad if i’m misquoting you rez). Although his death was nothing short of tragic, it was poetic to say the least.
